A YCI club has raised $400 to help the YCI club in Kenya, Africa build a new hut for a needy family!
The students of the North Rowan Middle School YCI club donated the money to Gethsemane Garden Christian Centre in January of 2011. Gethsemane Garden Christian Centre is a private school on Mfangano Island. As a service project, the YCI club at GGCC goes out into the impoverished community to build new huts for people in need. It only costs 400 American dollars to build a hut in Kenya! To learn more about GGCC, visit their website. If you are interested in helping out, contact Erica Lee for more information.
YCI clubs are involved in several service projects. If your club is looking for a new outreach, we invite you to take part in two great organizations who are helping homeless children in schools: A Child's Place and Bright Blessings. Both organizations have a list of needs on their website. Your club could help fill those needs!
