The Annual YCI Eagle Awards Celebration will be hosted at the Knight Theatre (430 South Tryon St., Charlotte, NC 28202) on Friday, May 11, 2012. The doors open at 6:30 p.m. Get there early! Hors d'oeuvres will be served at 6:00 p.m. Plus, the event is FREE to everyone this year. YCI welcomes donations to help support the event.

Anyone can nominate an individual or a YCI club for an Eagle Award. It is an honor to be nominated.
The deadline to turn in all nominations to the YCI office is Friday, April 6, 2012.

The Eagle Awards Celebration began in 1999 as an event to honor teachers, but it was later expanded to honor other individuals that were making a difference. The Legacy Award was established in honor of Sarah Longstreet and Leigh Lane Edwards (Two outstanding club leaders who died at a young age) and is determined to be the highest award given. A $1,000 scholarship is given to the recipient(s).

  

Outstanding Christian Leadership Award

• Does NOT have to be a YCI club member

• Must be a middle or high school student
• Must have a GPA of 2.0 (unweighted)
• Devout Christian student
• Strong leadership abilities among peers
• An awareness of the need for Christ on campus among students

Outstanding Christian Athlete Award

• Must be a high school senior
• Must have a GPA of 2.0 (unweighted)
• Devoted Christian student
• Demonstration of Christian character on and off the field/court, etc.
• An awareness of the need for Christ on campus among students

YCI Club Award

• Must have a complete and active leadership team (Student leaders, Teacher Sponsor, Campus Pastor)
• Must be making a positive impact on the campus in the following areas:

..... - Support initiatives for faculty and staff

..... - Culturally diverse
..... - School Campus outreach initiatives

YCI Legacy Award

• Must be a graduating senior high student
• Must be a part of the leadership team of a YCI Club
• Must have a GPA of 2.0 (unweighted)
• Devoted Christian student
• Strong leadership abilities among peers
• An awareness of the need for Christ on campus among students

• Must be serving as a club sponsor for an active (meets regularly) YCI Club on a high school or middle school campus
• Must be meeting regularly with and be supportive of the YCI Leadership Team

• Must be serving as the campus pastor for an active (meets regularly) YCI Club on a high school or middle school campus
• Must be involved with and supportive of YCI events and initiatives

• Must be making a positive impact with students consistent with the mission of YCI

YCI Parent Award

• Must volunteer in the campus club

J. Frank Harrison, III Award

• An adult individual or an organization that exhibits an unwavering dedication to Christ through witness, humility and servant leadership demonstrated in a commitment to youth.
• Award will be given by the YCI Board of Directors and Staff.
